Thomas S. Moore

Practice Description

For over 30 years, Tom has helped local homeowners, businesses and developers obtain permission to fully utilize their property.  Tom previously served as a member of the Chicago Board of Zoning Appeals.  After leaving the Board, Tom developed a broad-based zoning and land use practice and has helped hundreds of local homeowners and businesses obtain permission to build or modify their properties and businesses.  Tom regularly appears before the Chicago Board of Zoning Appeals, the Chicago City Council Zoning Committee, the Chicago Plan Commission and numerous suburban zoning boards.  He has spent decades helping his clients strategize and obtain zoning variances, special uses, zoning amendments and appeals.  Before specializing in zoning law, Tom was a commercial litigator who tried dozens of cases to verdict.  His commercial background coupled with his zoning expertise enables him to handle all the issues which can arise during a zoning case.  Tom served as a Senior Adjunct Professor at Loyola University School of Law for over 30 years, teaching in Chicago, London and Chile.
